![]() The specs make sense to me for tasks like photo editing but I'm completely lost with video.Īnother thing is that my laptops have always had integrated graphics so I don't even know how much the base graphics card in the 16-inch MBP will add. Until now, I've only edited little bits of footage on my 13-inch Macbook Pro, which struggles to do anything (understandably).Īt the moment it's difficult for me to understand how much performance I'll get out of, say, the base 16-inch Macbook Pro (16gb, 6-core Intel i7) and the 32gb, 8-core i9 version with an 8GB of GDDR6 graphics card or 64gb of RAM. I'm really glad I did - you get a lot more grunt for your money, and grunt is what it is all about with video editing. The Tech in the Apple Store even agreed with me and eventually encouraged me to go for a desktop iMac. I had this dilemma a while back when my 2011 MacBook Pro packed up - I looked at the New MacBook Pros but thought the value for money and functionality (particularly lack of ports) had greatly diminished.
